Top Sights in Mougins

(The French Riviera)

Mougins is an enchanting medieval village of the French Riviera situated between the lower Alps and the Bay of Cannes.  The village is a picturesque hilltop town surrounded by 15th century ramparts and a fortified gate.  These stone walls preserved the village from devastation and destruction during the 16th century.  From the 18th century on, Mougins flourished from the production of its olives and jasmine and crops of its vineyards and rose fields.

Today Mougins draws crowds for its fine food and prestigious restaurants.  Inside the village ramparts, you will find almost 50 dining establishments on its lovely squares and tiny streets.

Mougins is considered a chic place to visit.  Some of the greatest cultural figures of our time, including royalty, film stars and artists, have either lived in or visited this city because of its location and ideal weather.  Pablo Picasso, Yves St. Laurent, Jean Cocteau, Isadora Duncan, Christian Dior, Winston Churchill and Catherine Deneuve, make up a portion of the list of celebrities associated with Mougins.
